Research summary
This study will assess the performance of a new device (COMPASS) used for measuring the visual performance in patients with, or at risk to develop, glaucoma, a disease of the eye.
COMPASS outcomes will be compared to those obtained using the standard method in current clinical practice (static automated perimetry).
Both healthy subjects and subjects with glaucoma will be measured, so that a statistical model of responses in healthy eyes can be built.
The study will be conducted in seven international locations, all being ophthalmic clinics following patients with glaucoma.
Glaucoma is a degenerative disease and it is very important to anticipate as much as possible its diagnosis and detection of progression.
The study will serve to assess whether COMPASS can improve the clinical utility of the measurement with respect to the current gold standard.REC name
