Research summary
Optoretinography (ORG) is the recording of physiological change within the retina (back of the eye) caused by a flashing light. It makes use of optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology and enhanced post processing methods to determine the retina response to a bright flash of visible light. ORG has the potential to detect loss of function within the retina due to disease, providing clinicians with enhanced diagnostic tools enabling earlier diagnosis, quantifiable measures of disease progression and enhanced disease understanding.
The Primary objective of this study is to collect ORG data on a control group and retinas with predefined disease types to aid in the evaluation and development of a new prototype device.
