Research summary
This study looks at children who either have a hearing loss and wear hearing aids and those who do not, of primary school-age. Children with hearing aids may have had their hearing loss identified at birth and so have grown up with regular audiology department visits, and now, have frequent visits at school from their Teacher of the Deaf. These children will have a good understanding of their hearing loss and any potential impact on life. However, children who do not have a hearing loss will not have come across audiology services and therefore would like to record their perceptions of hearing loss and hearing aids, compared against young hearing aid users.
