  • Research summary

We are currently running a randomised controlled trial (RCT) which offers parenting support (the Triple P positive parenting programme) to parents with psychosis. It is a feasibility and acceptability study. The aim of the study is to find out if parents find Triple P helpful and if we need to make changes to how we run the study to help us design a larger trial in the future.

The study is taking place in two NHS trusts in Greater Manchester, UK. It is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research until the end of October 2026.

As part of the study's process evaluation we interview parents to find out how they experienced Triple P. We now want to interview some of the children of the parents who were given access to Triple P. Our aim is to find out what, if anything, children understood about their parent's participation in the Triple P programme; if they noticed a difference in their parent's behaviour while they were completing it or afterwards, and whether this difference was important to them. We will ask up to 10 children aged 8-12 years old to take part in one-off interviews to fulfil this aim.
