  • Research summary

This is a national survey of childrens’ and young patients' experiences of hospital inpatient and day case services. Assessing childrens’/young patients' experiences of inpatient and day case care is crucial for NHS trusts to fully understand how the quality of care can be improved for this group of patients. By ensuring that organisations carry out these surveys in a consistent and systematic way it is possible to build up a national picture of people’s experience and, with care, to compare the performance of different organisations, monitor change over time, and identify variations between different patient groups. This will in turn lead to improvements in overall patient experience.
