Data collection arrangements
We are writing to people aged 50-85 to invite them to join a research registry focussing on dementia prevention and healthy ageing. If an individual consents to join the research registry, we will collect their name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, NHS number, gender and ethnicity from their GP record.
Research programme
Over 800,000 people in the UK currently suffer from dementia. In the years ahead, this number is expected to rise significantly, this is because ageing is the main risk factor for developing dementia and people are generally living longer.
