Research summary
The research will focus on two population groups: adults from South Asian background and Caucasian white adults with food allergy, in our West Midlands Allergy department, with the focus of establishing the burden of allergy. We will compare the information gathered from these two patient groups. We are interested in studying the type of food allergy, how often allergic reactions have happened, how severe they were, how they were managed and if you also have other allergic conditions such as hay fever, asthma and eczema. This information will allow us to establish the allergy burden. In our allergy clinic, we have a high South Asian population. By learning more about how allergies affect different population groups, and where the greaten burden is experienced, we might be able to offer better advice and improve the care provided.
