Research summary
Hypophosphatasia is a genetic disease which causes defects in bone mineralisation. In this study we aim to use various techniques (including scanning and transmission electron microscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy)to investigate the nature of the bone mineral present in a bone biopsy from a patient with hypophosphatasia and to compare it with bone from patients without the disease.
