Research summary
The aim of this study is to explore the differences between insulin pump users who make and maintain improvements in blood glucose levels against those that still have suboptimal levels of control despite prolonged (i.e. greater than 1 year) of insulin pump therapy. This study will investigate any individual differences between patients with diabetes who are doing well to those whose glucose levels are less well controlled. The study will also access if there are any local service improvements (i.e. education, training) that may be required to help support better patient outcomes.
The study will involve consenting patients to complete a brief questionnaire regarding their experiences on insulin pump therapy and the option to attend a focus group meeting to discuss themes arising from the questionnaire with similar patients.
