Research summary
The aim of the study is to look at perceptions of implementing quality of care into practice for persons with complex needs, by taking into account different and multiple perspectives from care providers, senior managers, health professionals, carers and people with complex needs. The study sets out to analyse how they perceive quality care and the way it is transposed into practice within the current health and social care environment, what aspects of quality care matter the most to different categories of people involved in delivering care for complex needs, and to identify and explore any potential challenges experienced by care providers in the process of implementing quality of care standards into practice for people with complex needs. Once these challenges have been identified, recommendations will be made with regards the best ways to overcome the challenges and thus contribute to continuous improvement of services available for people with complex needs.
