Research summary
The purpose of this pilot study is to understand the performance of sensor-based glucose monitoring systems, when used in adults with diabetes undergoing haemodialysis. Approximately 10 subjects will wear two different systems which measure and record their glucose levels. Participants will be ask to; test their blood glucose four times per day and at the same time scan the sensor with the FreeStyle Libre Reader, and carry the Dexcom G6 Receiver. Each subject will continue wearing both systems for up to 10 days, whilst going about their daily activities and attending their dialysis sessions as normal. After approximately 10 days, participants will return for their second visit for sensor removal and data upload. Throughout the study participants will not be able to see the sensor glucose data but are able to make treatment decisions using the results obtained from fingerprick testing. \n\nThe study is estimated to last approximately 12 weeks and study participation will be a maximum of 24 days.
