Research summary
Celebrating Success is a mixed-methods study that aims to highlight best practice in primary care settings when treating patients living with HIV. We will produce recommendations based on survey and interview data that can be implemented throughout the country to reduce stigma and discrimination experienced by people living with HIV in health settings across the UK.
Participants must be over the age of 15 and living with HIV and will be recruited from NHS HIV clinics. We aim to collect 100 survey responses, that is nominations of primary care physicians and subsequently interview the 15-20 who have scored highest on our league table. The survey will be administered online using tablet computers or personal electronic devices. Interviews will take place either in person, over the phone or using Skype. Data will be stored on secure Survey Monkey servers and analysed by the research team. Findings from the survey will be published in the form of a report as well as peer-reviewed journals and communicated by Stigma Survey UK as well as disseminated to PLHIV through events organised in partnership with community organisations.REC name
