Research summary
This study plans to investigate if the hybrid approach, combining a minimally invasive surgical ablation technique and normal catheter ablation techniques in a two-staged fashion, provides freedom from the symptoms of Atrial Fibrillation through 36 months compared with repeated catheter ablation (standard of care) in patients with persistent AF and enlarged left atrium or long-standing persistent AF.
