Research summary
We aim to develop a questionnaire that measures the quality of life of children and young people with bronchiectasis, as well as their parents or caregivers. Bronchiectasis is a long-term lung condition that causes repeated coughing and chest infections and can impact a person's daily living.
Currently, there is no quality-of-life tool specifically designed for children with this condition. This gap makes it harder for healthcare teams to fully understand and respond to the needs of young patients and their families. As a result, care for this condition can be unequal and inconsistent.
By creating a new, disease-specific questionnaire, this project will help improve both clinical care and research by providing a better way to measure how bronchiectasis affects children’s lives.
