Research summary
The research project aims to create and identify if a scoring tool can be used to calculate the acuity of patients attending Emergency Departments. The tool will comprise several data points which require to be collated during the patient's attendance. These cover NEWS, Mode of Referral , Mode of Arrival , Demographics, Admission / Discharge , 28 Day Mortality , Critical Care Admission , Triage Category. All this information is already accessible during daily working with patients. The acuity tool scores will be measured against these parameters to identify any significance.
