Data collection arrangements
The BioResource is a purpose-designed facility based at The University of Edinburgh’s Easter Bush Campus.
EPAD samples are stored in the following locations on campus:
- Alexander Robertson Building, Lab 1.02
- The Roslin Institute, 3rd Floor Freezer Room
- Roslin Liquid Nitrogen Store
- Bumstead Freezer Farm
- F block
- Stable blockThe EPAD database allows BioResource staff to record the storage location (i.e. freezer, drawer, box ID, box position) of every sample aliquot.
Samples are stored as per the EPAD LCS protocol. No new sample collection is planned as the EPAD LCS is complete.
Research programme
The BioResource consists of a unique set of samples for the study of early brain changes leading to Alzheimer's disease and dementia. We aim to continue collaborating with other academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, and charitable bodies; based in the UK, Europe, and internationally. The EPAD data continues to be open-access and publicly-available to the wider research community.
