The Bioresource is a purpose designed facility based at The University of Edinburgh’s Easter Bush Campus, Roslin.

EH25 9RGThe Bioresource incorporates a bespoke Sample Handling Database system designed specifically for the EPAD Bioresource with onsite support. This gives the ability to find the storage position of every sample aliquot, from freezer ID right down to its box position.
Collection and storage arrangements as per consent given previously during EPAD LCS. No new collection planned as part of EPAD LCS.
Research programme
The resource aims to facilitate research to generate data for understanding of the disease mechanisms, assessing risk factors, support for proof of concept and other trials in AD. The EPAD LCS Bioresource thus consists of a unique set of samples for the study of early brain changes in the brain leading to dementia and is designed contribute to the creation of new diagnostic tests, and to increase the likelihood of successful development of new treatments for the secondary prevention of dementia.
