Research summary
This study will compare the effect of continuous impact exercise to rest-inserted impact exercise upon bone mineral density in early post-menopausal females. The impacts will be made up of jumping, stepping, stamping and hopping. The exercise will be performed at home. The study will be 12 months in duration and will consist of a very brief exercise session 3 days per week, each separated by one rest day. The bone mineral density will be assessed with DXA scans which will happen at baseline, after 6 months and after 12 months. Participants will be healthy volunteers.
