Research summary
This study aims to generate data that will provide insights into the nature of black and minority ethnic (BME) users and family member’s or carers’ experiences of healthcare provieded by the National Health Service (NHS). BME is a term used in the UK to describe people of non-white and non-British descent. This data will be achieved through (i) analysis of mandatorily recorded complaints/compliments data and (ii) face to face semi-structured in-depth interviews of 20-30 BME service users and 20-30 family members or carers. The findings of this study will be used to help us better understand and respond to the needs of BME service users and family members/carers.
