Research summary
This research study aims to test the performance of different iterations (versions) of prototype devices, with fresh blood from a range of healthy donors at Entia’s laboratory. Blood samples will be venous samples from healthy volunteers. These blood samples will be used to test different versions of the prototype device over our development timeline and also to compare venous blood samples to gold standard analysers.
Up to 100 participants will be recruited via email. Participants will be asked to attend one of the Entia rented laboratories for their blood sample to be obtained by a trained external phlebotomist.
Participants who take part in the venous sampling will be asked to complete a brief medical screening by external company who will be providing the phlebotomy and laboratory blood analysing service. The results of this will not be shared with Entia.
During the duration of the study interested volunteers will be contacted from time to time to see if they would like to donate blood. Participants can just give blood once if they wish to and are free to withdraw at any time.
Blood results will not be used for any clinical decisions and the blood will be discarded after use according to HTA procedures.
