Research summary
A point of care test (POCT) that measures total serum IgE levels in patients with atopic conditions such as asthma and spontaneous urticaria is being developed. This study will test the accuracy of the device. It will enroll up to 150 patients with atopic asthma and include a minimum of 30 pts with IgE levels>700IU/mL. Patients will be split into two groups both of which will have a total of no more than 30.5mL of blood taken at a single visit and only one visit will be required.
