Research summary
The principal research question is to determine the views and beliefs of people with learning disabilities (LD) and staff (working within LD services) about relationships, sex education, birth control methods, and sexual participation concerning people with learning disabilities. The two groups’ views will be compared by using Q-methodology to identify potential differences in order to inform service provision and training. Q-methodology employs the use of statements reflecting diverse viewpoints about a topic. These statements are visually presented to participants who is then asked to sort them in relation to each other.
