Research summary
Obesity is considered a leading causes of premature death and morbidity with about a quarter of UK adults being obese. There is a strong economic case concerning tackling obesity. It is therefore important that patients have access to weight-loss intervention programs. We intend to recruit participants from primary and secondary care clinics and ask them to complete an online survey concerning their perceived barriers to accessing weight loss services. We aim to determine what the key barriers to accessing weight management services are and how many eligible participants would attend a brief weight loss intervention if offered.
