  • Data collection arrangements

We intend to create a collection of haematological cancer and other malignant and benign control tissues including blood, bone marrow, lymph node biopsies, leucopheresis samples from primary metastatic sites as well as blood donations from healthy volunteers. This collection of tissue will be used for research into improving the outlook for people with haematological cancers. Suitable patients will be approached by trained members of their healthcare team or trained members of the Haemato-Oncology Tissue Bank team to discuss and gain informed consent. These same members will be responsible for the collection and storage of tissues and routine anonymised clinical data.

  • Research programme

The human tissue is primarily collected from patients treated at Barts NHS Trust sites and aims to support research programmes at the Barts Cancer Institute, external academics and commercial collaborators who work in the field of haematological malignancy.
