  • Research summary

We plan to determine the occurrence of sensorineural hearing loss in patients (n=20) with mitochondrial disease that harbour the m.3243A>G mutation and to evaluate auditory processing deficits in these individuals. Patients will undergo a battery of auditory assessments, all of which are based upon standard clinical protocols and will be carried out using commercial devices. The assessments include auditory & speech assessments, questionnaires and physical examination. The expected visit time is between three and four hours.
