Research summary
This study aims to capture the views and the experiences of trans men and non-binary persons with a cervix with regard to cervical screening. It involves distribution of an anonymised questionnaire to approximately 1000 trans men and non-binary persons with a cervix aged over 18. These will be gathered from the waiting list for initial appointment at the Gender Identity Clinic (GIC), lists of trans male and non-binary patients who have attended CliniQ for cervical screening. The questionnaire will ask about demographic details, cervical screening history, gynaecological history, sexual health history and attitudes towards cervical screening. Responses will be collated, analysed and published, with a view to helping inform health to policy and lessen health inequalities in cervical screening for this population. This study is being run in collaboration with Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and LGBT Foundation.
