  • Research summary

This project aims to aid the further classification of a subtype of brain tumours using in-house testing methods. First, to see if the in-house testing results (immunohistochemistry) correlate with the molecular testing that is sent to a regional centre.

Secondly; as this type of brain tumour typically shows a mutation, which is identified by a loss of staining, the use of a double staining technique will identify any tumour cells and then aid in the assessment of their anti-ATRX status. This will better enable interpretation by the Consultant Histopathologist.
