Research summary
We wish to conduct a retrospective analysis of cardiovascular imaging scans carried out in the Golden Jubilee from 2008-2012 (including MRI, CT and echo). These scans have all been done for clinical reasons in patients with suspected cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease) on the lists of Dr Tzemos, and thus does not require any further input from the patients who underwent them. There is however a wealth of data which can be obtained to advance our medical knowledge which is not presently required for current clinical management. It would be valuable to analyse these data to discover this important information which may inform future management of these groups of patients. We would also wish to find out if any of the parameters we analyse impact on patients regarding admissions to hospital or mortality.
