Research summary
This is a survey study to assess the psychosocial impacts on patients requiring prosthodontics treatments. Subjective assessments on those issues are often poorly emphasised by dental practitioners, thus, may leads to poor psychological health of our patients.
This study will provide invaluable insight into the subjective psychosocial impact of our patients and will ultimately improve our service.
All the patients above 16 years of age attending to prosthodontics screening clinic, University Dental Hospital of Manchester will be offered the opportunity to participate in the study. Patient information leaflets and questionnaire will be distributed to all our patients by the clinic receptionists. Patients who understood and agreed to complete the questionnaire will be included in the study. No identifiable information will be used in this study.
Our target patients number is around 200. Data collection would finish in September 2018.
