Research summary
This project will look at how radiologists at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, perform in scoring magnetic resonance images (MRI) for features of knee osteoarthritis with a recognised scoring system called MOAKS (MRI OsteoArthritis Knee Score). It is vital for any clinical research trial to understand whether performance in the application of such a scoring system varies between individuals or the same individual at different time points. This study is in preparation for a future trial that will take place in the Trust, called ADIPOA2 (http://adipoa2.eu), that will use the same scoring system. The imaging from patients to be included in the study will be retrospectively reviewed by a member of the clinical care team, fully anonymised and then exported to a research imaging workstation for MOAKS assessment. Finally, appropriate statistical measures will be applied to performance metrics to record the reliability.
