Research summary
Rates of patients dissatisfaction with surgical outcomes are currently reported to range from 10-20%, however, a recent study suggested that there are several factors other than surgical outcomes that influence the level of patients satisfaction.
The specific aim of the project is to explore the impact of the patients’ experience of the revision TKA care pathway on their reported outcome scores and evaluate parameters that influence these scores. Patients will be interviewed at 3 key stages of their journey, pre-operatively, before they are discharged from hospital, and at a routine 6-month follow-up appointment, to evaluate their experience of the revision total knee replacement care pathway. Patients will also be asked to complete questionnaires at each time point.
