Research summary
The study is being conducted as a fourth year research project with supervision from a GP. The research aims to investigate the effects of appointment allocation systems on patient ability and satisfaction of obtaining appointments with a view to inform future development of appointment systems. 30-40 practices from across Tayside will be approached with the aim of recruiting a mixture of practices from rural, suburban and city locations. Quantitative data has recently been provided to practices by Scottish Government regarding several aspects of General Practice with regard to patient satisfaction including ability to obtain appointments. This qualitative research aims to provide richness and context to this data.
