  • Research summary

Medication adherence is essential for the treatment of chronic diseases. There is no existing solution to automated non-adherence identification and classification available for use in the primary care setting, the setting in which the vast majority of patient are prescribed and dispensed medicines. The project is therefore to develop a an approach to identify and classify the types / reasons for medication non-adherence routinely in the primary care setting. The tool will also be capable, once non-adherence is identified and stratified, of bringing forward recommendations for potential approaches to be taken by the GP and/or community pharmacist from the suite of well tried and tested interventions
