Research summary
Work has been evidenced to be beneficial for mental health service users who live in the community in many studies. However, limited studies have been conducted to understand work from the perspective of mental health service users who live within secure units. This study intends to explore how mental health service-users within secure hospitals experience work. This study will utilize interpretative phenomenology to find out the lived experiences of the mental health service-users within the Northampton town. A purposive sample of four service-users will be recruited for this study.
Data collection will be done through face-to-face interviews and the formation during the interview will be recorded on a Dictaphone. The interviews in this study will be analyzed with the use of Colaizzi’s method of analysis.REC name
