Research summary
This study will explore the experiences, thoughts and opinions of individuals who have completed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based Guided Self Help (GSH) treatment for bulimic and binge eating disorders, in a specialist service setting. Semi structured, face-to-face interviews will be used to gather this information, allowing for directed and open discussion. Audio recording and subsequent transcription of these interviews will allow for an interpretative phenomenological analysis to be conducted. It is hoped this analysis will shed light on how these experiences, thoughts and opinions relate to recovery; it is also hoped this information can be applied to practice to improve future outcomes of GSH and also to generate further research questions.
