Research summary
This research study aims to use imaging data taken from diagnostic tests as part of a patients routine clinical care. Diagnostic tests such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT) and echocardiography are now commonly performed as part of a patients care pathway, to help diagnose and manage many heart and blood vessel diseases. Many thousands of such tests are performed each year, providing millions of images and data points that are not possible to use in a clinical report. Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods have the capacity to use this vast amount of information in a fast, efficient way to help improve patient care.
This study would like to use the information gathered to develop AI models that can be used to improve the accuracy of a patients’ diagnosis, as well as develop personalised risk models that help us understand an individual’s future heart and blood vessel risk and improve patient care.
