Research summary
Vaccination is an excellent preventative, supporting health across the lifespan. However, younger children and older adults are more at risk from disease caused by Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). There is a recently licensed vaccine that provides protection against infection in older adults. This study will use existing blood samples from the early clinical trials used to inform the development of this vaccine to assess how the white blood cells of younger and older adults respond to RSV vaccines.
