This is a study to establish best practice and current practice in the treatment of children vertically infected with the HIV virus. It is a qualitative study and will recruit the following cohorts at Kings College Hospital: vertically transmitted children aged 10-19 year, transitioned (moved into adult care from paediatric care) adolescents aged 14-24 who attend, transitioned adolescents aged 14-24 who do not attend, and health care professionals involved in caring for this group of patients. Patients falling into the categories above will be invited to take part in semi-structured interviews (1-1.5 hours) which will include detailed mapping of their life histories.
