Research summary
Secondary prevention of cardiovascular risk factors is a fundamental tenant of managing patients with vascular disease. Sub-optimal numbers of patients are given appropriate preventative treatment, and poor levels of treatment adherence and socioeconomic inequity results in a minority of patients being adequately treated. Understanding the current patterns of treatment non-adherence and lifestyle habits in this cohort of patients will allow the development of new interventions to improve treatment adherence and clinical outcomes.
