Research summary
Research Summary
To establish the relationship between spring ligament laxity and achilles tendon rupture. The null hypothesis would be no increased incidence of spring ligament laxity in leg with achilles tendon rupture compared with the unaffected foot in the same patient. An affected foot has an increased degree of lateral translation of the foot at the talonavicular joint and the first metatarsal axis.
Summary of Results
There is significantly higher/ greater amount of midfoot laxity in patients with TA rupture. This is statistically significant compared to the uninjured foot.
