Research summary
At Leeds Dental Institute teeth are extracted for a variety of reasons. The University of Leeds has a portfolio of studies exploring such topics as antibiotic use and how oral health relates to systemic health, dental anxiety and other oral health issues. The Dental Institute has a Skeletal Tissues Research Tissue Bank where we collect donated extracted teeth from consented participants. We wish to find out some of the reasons for participants needing to attend the Dental Institute for these extractions, their general knowledge of oral health and antibiotic usage prior to extraction. We want to approach some of the same participants who are approached for the Skeletal Tissue Bank to ask if they will participate in this questionnaire study.
Participants who consent to the ACCOLaDE study will be asked to complete 3 short questionnaires just before their extraction appointment.REC name
