• Data collection arrangements

  The Aberdeen Maternity and neonatal Databank records and stores information on all births occurring in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital from 1950 to the present time. The data are taken from the hospital case notes and manually coded and entered into a computer database. There are four data coding staff who are all bound by a confidentiality agreement to protect the privacy of the participants in the database.

  Obstetric epidemiological studies and through record linkage with Scottish Morbidity Records follow up health data on mothers and their offspring who were born in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.
