Research summary
This study will take place in NHS GP practices in England and will include around 60 adults aged 40 years and over with actinic keratosis (AK), a common skin condition caused by long-term sun exposure.
The aim is to better understand how well Adex Gel works in treating the dry and inflamed skin associated with AK. Participants will be asked to apply the gel three times daily for 12 weeks.
Skin changes will be assessed over time using a standard scoring system (Actinic Keratosis Area and Severity Index), along with changes in symptoms and the number of affected areas at each of the four study visits. Participants and their study doctor will also be asked how well the treatment is working and how easy it is to use.
Optional photographs may be taken at selected GP practices at the first visit (baseline) and again after 12 weeks (Visit 4), with separate consent.
