Research summary
The overall aim of the study is to compare and contrast non-invasive measures of nasal inflammation with the standard, more invasive nasal secretion collection in occupational inhalation challenge for rhinitis and asthma. Non-invasive methods would have a potential use either as an additional diagnostic measure, or for use in individuals who are not able to tolerate or otherwise undergo the conventionally used technique. By more accurately diagnosing occupational rhinitis, clinicians can give patients more precise and individually meaningful advice on the management of rhinitis related to work.
