  The National Neonatal Research Database contains data extracted from the real-time electronic patient records of all admissions to NHS Neonatal Units. The National Neonatal Research Database is held on a secure NHS server at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. The data includes demographics, daily care processes, medications, and clinical parameters including age two-year follow-up assessments.

• Research programme

  The National Neonatal Research Database was created to be a national resource to improve the care of newborn babies and support neonatal services through auditing, monitoring and analysing the delivery, organisation and outcomes of care, and facilitating research. It is used by a growing number and range of research groups and organisations including the Departments of Health, NHS England, and Public Health England.
