  • Research summary

We seek to evaluate a method for re-teaching people with dementia personal information so that they can partake in social interactions more easily. Errorless learning involves the elimination of errors during the learning process by breaking down the target responses into small steps, providing the correct answers immediately, and the systematic fading of prompts. Such methods may facilitate faster acquisition, and avoid guessing or distress when the person cannot recall the answer. There is currently little literature evaluating the use of errorless discrete trial training methods with people with dementia and we aim to evaluate the utility of this method.
