Research summary
To determine the frequency of remission of diabetes mellitus after 02 years bariatric surgery.
We shall look into the bariatric surgery record register and include all the patients in the study who had diabetes mellitus as per WHO criteria before their surgery. We shall then look into the status of diabetes in all diabetic patients 02 years post operation. We shall then find out the rate of remission of Diabetes mellitus 02 years after bariatric surgery. This will let us know what is the percentage of diabetic patient's who are cured of diabetes after bariatric surgery and what is the percentage who maintain the remission for at least 02 years after the surgery.
The study design will be retrospective. We shall not follow the patients, rather look into their previous records(bariatric surgery register).REC name
