Becky Purvis joined the HRA in 2021 as Deputy Director of Policy and Partnerships and was appointed Director of Policy and Partnerships in November 2022.
Becky has a background in health research policy and communications, previously leading public affairs for the Royal Society – the UK’s National Academy of Science – and policy for the Association of Medical Research Charities.
She has worked in the UK Parliament and for the Science Media Centre, and has been a Board member of charities including the Campaign for Science and Engineering and Rare Disease UK.
Throughout her career, Becky has worked to increase opportunities for everyone to be able to understand, engage with, be involved in, act on and benefit from research findings.
