William Bernal is Professor of Liver Critical Care Medicine in the Liver Intensive Therapy Unit at the Institute of Liver Studies at Kings College Hospital, London. He has extensive experience of medical research using routinely collected clinical data, in emergencies and with people who lack capacity. With interests in medical ethics and clinical, research and information governance he has served as Caldicott Guardian and Corporate Medical Director for his NHS Trust.
