Can I become a HRA-registered pharmacy reviewer?

Last updated on 25 Sep 2020

We are continuing to recruit a panel of HRA Pharmacy Assurance reviewers to help with the Pharmacy Assurance process.

We are currently inviting pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and radiopharmaceutical scientists to register to become HRA registered Pharmacy Assurance reviewers with expertise in one or more of the following clinical specialisms:

  • adult oncology
  • adult non-oncology
  • paediatric oncology
  • paediatric non-oncology
  • radiopharmacy
  • advanced therapy investigational medicinal products (ATIMPs)

Candidates should have experience of carrying out local pharmacy reviews. A short online training course about the review process will be provided to successful candidates.

For further details, read the pharmacy reviewer role description.

Did you know?

HRA-registered pharmacist and pharmacy technician reviewers can use completed reviews as evidence towards their Clinical Professional Development (CPD) portfolio, and radiopharmaceutical scientists registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) may be able to use completed reviews as evidence of CPD in their record.

If you have any queries around the role, please contact pharmacy.assurance@hra.nhs.uk.

Anita Chhabra

The HRA Pharmacy Assurance reviewer is a role that will help us make a key step forward in increasing efficiency, consistency and rigour in the way we set up clinical trials across multiple sites. This role is the result of a successful pilot of the process that is now complete and we would like to implement wider. The reviewer makes sure accurate and complete information is available to all sites so they can assess quickly how they set up clinically and operationally. This single and complete source of information has in the pilot allowed us to streamline the whole process of setting up a new study. If a new study is opened quicker, new experimental treatments can be made available sooner and patients can benefit earlier. If you are interested in making a real difference then this is a role you should consider. Please apply now.
